What did you learn?
There is a dark river that runs through me. It’s been there for a long time, singing low and persistent from the underground. This year, for the first time ever, I sat on its banks and watched the obsidian ripple and move in the sunlight. I traced the patterns with my eyes. I sketched a map of where the rocks and rapids lie. I committed them to memory. So now, on those days when I’m forced to cross over, I know where to place my feet so the water will rise up to meet them.
What the heck is this Reverb12 business? Find out here. Today’s answer is actually the intersection of a prompt from #cultivate12:
What lesson really jumped out at you this year?
And #Reverb12:
What did you learn?
I think that’s the Universe’s way of telling me to answer the question, already. ;)
I love the message in this, the watching, the waiting, the learning.
Here's to getting your feet wet!

I am enjoying your take on the questions. But, I have to say it makes me incredibly curious.

So beautiful. I think I spend more time time afraid of the river than I do becoming familiar with it. It's true that we fear what we're not familiar with, even in ourselves.

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback! This was a tough one to write, so I really appreciate all of your thoughts. :)

Oh, I love the visuals - the actual experience of sitting with you. Wonderful to know where you are... and to be able to sit with you and view, miraculously, my own reflection.

So beautiful, I can hear the stones & see their shine. I bet you're wearing those hiking boots when you need to cross over. xo
