What's all this business about French Christmas?

  • My name—Noël—has been mispronounced, mislabeled, and mistaken since my parents bestowed it upon me one snowy March afternoon. It wasn't until a friend nicknamed me "French Christmas" that it came into focus. How much would our lives change if we could just see things differently?

beautiful. And the other side has been wonderful.

Agreed. Beautiful. A lifetime in one year. Amazing what stepping through the door of change does. And what a difference a year makes.

walking through that door I have watched such beautiful growth......keep walking and doors will keep opening (:

Ha! Ha! what a perfect blog for me today as I prepare for my job interview.....what timing. Thanks!

We humans, we love routines. Indeed. Beautiful, and insightful. May your reverberations continue happily into the new year.

@Dragonfly, @Shannon, @Katie, @Roxanne, thanks so much to you all for sharing your feedback! Wishing you all lots of open doors to walk through this New Year.

This is so exciting. I love that you began with a Monday morning that was no longer rushed, but peacefully resigned in your decision.

It's so awesome when the steps you've taken begin to pay off.
Amazing that you found peace in a routine (same yoga spot one year later) that reminded you of *leaving* your old routine. Brilliant.

I look forward to doing the same...not too distant in the future?

@Abigail, thanks so much for the feedback! And good for you! I saw always push forward ... what is the big change you are looking to make?

Wonderfully written, Noel! I'm jealous. You've moved forward and I feel like I'm standing still! If only your words were of the scratch and sniff variety so maybe that feeling of progression would rub off on me (hope that doesn't sound offensive as I do not mean it to). Great post! :)

@Tracy, thanks so much for your thoughts, and I LOVE the scratch and sniff imagery! Awesome! There are many things in life that I feel the exact same way about. Although I think you have moved along much father than you realize! Your last few posts show a huge shift -- maybe it's like being on a bullet train, where you move so fast you don't even realize it! :)

I'm crazy about your Aunt Fran. And this: I think a lot of people try to commit those threshold-breaths to memory, and then let them go. I'm glad you kept yours.

@Kim -- thanks for the comments! And yes, my Aunt Fran rocks. :)
