Hail to the ladies who don't just challenge stereotypes, they chew them up and spit the pieces all over the floor. That's why the first in my official "Ladies Who Kick Ass Series" is Ann Wolfe. Never heard of her? I hadn't either, until I watched a James Kirkland fight with my boyfriend a few weeks ago. The cameras panned to his corner and there she was, looking like a lioness--calm, lean, and dangerously powerful. (Seriously, check out those guns.) I looked down at my own puny biceps and cringed with envy.
Just to give you a little taste-- Anne is a former boxer who held world titles in four different weight classes simultaneously. (And, from everything I've read, she's been unofficially named the hardest puncher in the history of women's boxing.) She also overcame some serious personal battles, raised two children, and now trains pro boxers like Kirkland (which I'm sure you know is a predominantly male profession). If she's not a superhero, then I don't know who is.
