I don’t know if it’s the impending collapse of the economy, the uncertainty of the upcoming election, or if some extra terrestrial force put a giant dose of cranky pills in the water, but you are in a one bad mood.
I’ve seen more middle fingers, more shoves, and more evil eyes this past week than, well, ever. And I live in a city where people are usually nice to each other, even strangers. I’m used to people helping each other out, like the little old lady who offered me a cough drop the other day.
Seriously, world, you’re as pissy as Hamlet when someone tries to give him a bath (see photo above left). But I’m trying not to let you get to me, even when the ticket lady shorted me and my boyfriend $5 el fare and then said it was our fault (and was really mean about it). I’m not going to let you get to me, even when the crazy drunk guy yelled profanities at my Dad on the train platform. I’m not going to let you get to me, because if I do, I’ll just be one more person in this bad-mood domino effect. So I’m telling you to go home, take a hot bubble bath, and call me tomorrow when you’re feeling better.
XOXO N.
I'm with u. These recent struggles had been coming for some time and now the universe has to right its self. So everyone needs to take a deep breath and breathe because it will be ok. (:
